Before treatment:
The patient’s ability to see in the dark declined 30 years ago, and the condition got worse. His vision during daytime declined 25 years ago, he also lost some of his peripheral visual field and the condition became worse. He was diagnosed as Retinitis Pigmentosa at a local hospital. He went to Cuba to have treatment 24 years ago and his vision field became better at that time. But the condition got worse with time. He went to Cuba 17 years ago and his vision had improvement but got worse few months later. He lost some vision including peripheral visual field 15 years ago. He could only see big objects. He only has light sensitivity 10 years ago, so he had crystalline lens replacement at the local hospital. After that, his vision including vision field had no improvement. He used Brinzolamida and Fenilefrina hcl/Tropicamid once every Wednesday, 7 years ago. He has lost his left vision and his right eye only had light sensitivity. He couldn’t differentiate any objects. He wanted a better life, so he came to our medical center.

The patient’s spirit was good, his weight was normal. He could drink and eat normally. His sleep was normal. His urination and defecation were good.

Admission PE:
Bp: 118/80mmHg, Hr: 86/min, Br: 19/min. BT: 36.5 degrees. His growth and nutrition were normal, his skin mucosa was without hemorrhaging spots or yellow stains. His thorax was symmetrical. The respiration of both lungs was clear, without moist rales. The heart sound was low and dull, and the cardiac rhythm was regular. There was no obvious murmur in the valves. The abdomen was flat and soft, with no masses. The liver and spleen were normal. The cardiogram: complete right bundle branch block.

Nervous System Examination:
He was alert and his speech was clear. His memory, orientation and calculation ability were normal. He had enophthalmos of right eye. His oculi rimae was smaller than normal. His right eye only had light sensitivity. The diameter of right pupils was 1mm, the shape was irregular and it was sensitive to light reflex. His left eye doesn’t have vision. The diameter of left pupils was 4.0mms, the shape was irregular and it was not sensitive to direct and indirect light reflex. Both eyes could move around well. He didn’t have nystagmus. Fundus examination: left: The color of left fundus was white, AV ratio was 1:4. There were a lot of black osteoid lesions, the macular area and optic papilla were covered. Right: The color of right fundus was light yellow, AV ratio was 1:4, and the optic papilla was swollen. The forehead wrinkle pattern was symmetrical. The nasolabial sulcus was equal in depth. The teeth were symmetrical and the tongue was centered. There was free movement in the neck. The muscle tension and power of all four limbs were normal. The muscle strength of all four limbs was almost at level 5. The abdominal reflex was weak, both biceps brachii reflex and triceps brachii reflex were normal. The patella tendon reflex and achilles reflex were weak. The bilateral pathological sign was negative. The deep and shallow sensations were normal. The coordinated movements were normal. The meningeal irritation sign was negative.

Treatment:
He was diagnosed with 1.Retinitis Pigmentosa 2. Right Bundle Branch Block 3. Hyperplasia of Prostate. He received treatment to initiate retina, fix and regenerate new cells, improve his immunity, nourish the neurons, dilate the blood vessels, improve his circulation, regular his blood lipid and he also had rehabilitation training.

Post-treatment:
After the treatment, both eyes were better. His right eye could see more light and the area was larger. His right eye could see the light pen’s light pot at the distance of 4 meters. He could count the number of bulbs. He could also see the shadow of arms and pen at the distance of 40 cm. He could also see the moon at night. His left eye had light sensitivity sometimes. He could see the moon at night. Left eye temporal side and bottom side had light sensitivity. Fundus examination: The color of left fundus was light yellow, AV ratio was 2:4. There were less black osteoid lesions, the macular area and optic papilla were clear to see. The color of right fundus was light yellow, AV ratio was 2:4, the optic papilla was less swollen and the black osteoid lesions were less. At present, Nestor Omar Dalpra’s treatment has been completed and the requirements for discharge have been met.
